Barbara Jennings, M.A. O.D. F.A.A.O.

Dr. Jennings completed her residency at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center.  She worked at the Southern College of Optometry where she was the Director of a Residency Clinic and the Chapman Professor and Director of the Chapman Vascular Clinic, the only vascular clinic associated with an optometry school.  While at SCO, she taught ocular disease courses and her research concentrated on ocular blood flow.

She has written numerous textbook chapters and published many scientific articles, and has lectured internationally on retinal and other ocular diseases as well as systemic diseases that have ocular manifestations.  She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center where she worked as an investigator and study coordinator in the Retinal Degenerations and Ophthalmic Genetics Service.

Since clinical research has always been Dr. Jennings’ real interest, she is excited to serve at DBR as the Director of Clinical Trials where she oversees all of the clinical research studies.

She is always happy to talk to patients about potential clinical trials for which they may qualify!
